Two days prior to the excursion date, you will be notified the location and directions to the event venue. Be prepared to travel to all boroughs of NYC.



Figure out modes of transport and amount of time required to get to the venue. Budding Taste is not responsible for transportation to and from tasting events.



Once you arrive you will join other Budding Tasters on an exploration of food cultures and flavors of a pre-selected meal designed by the excursion leader. Remember beverages are not included in the cost of the excursion.

How well do you know your Chinese food? Know the difference between Cantonese and Szechuan? Or Fujian versus Shangdong? In this set of excursions participants will eat, taste and learn about the great culinary traditions of China. Five select restaurants in New York City will offer you experiences that represent distinct styles of Chinese cooking. You will find your way to a designated address and chomp your way through a tailored menu while listening, learning and discussing taste aspects of cuisine. (COST: $50 PER TRIP)

  • Shandong in Queens: Nested in the northeast region of China, Shandong presents Chinese flavors that are defined by its climate and geography. Diners will have a chance to experience the freshness, clearness, crunchiness, and tenderness of Shandong's artful delights.
